UC Dance have 100% pass rates in all examinations taken to date with over 85% of our students achieving Distinction grades and achieving 90 marks or over.
Our dancer's take examinations in ballet, tap, modern, acrobatics, theatre craft, musical theatre and freestyle. We are also introducing contemporary dance examinations with the NATD this year.
Our dancers can take examinations from 3 years, starting with the IDTA rosettes. This is a great introduction and builds confidence, team work, listening skills and commitment.
On completion of the examination the dancers receive a report, certificate and rosette, trophy or medal depending on the award taken.
We enjoy celebrating our dancers achievement with an exam presentation after each exam session, a great fun way to be proud of our achievements.
In 2020 Libbie Stokes took part in the IDTA Ballet scholarships in Manchester after being selected by her examiner in her ballet exam in 2019. This was a huge honour and we are incredibly proud of Libbie's achievements in such as short space of time.
In 2022 Layla Colligan was nominated to attend the 2022 IDTA Ballet Scholarships in Manchester in February 2022 after her nomination from her exams in July 2021. An amazing achievement, well done!
In February 2023 four of our dancers attended the IDTA scholarships in contemporary modern dance and Theatrecraft. A huge well done to Amy Owen-McGee, Ashleigh Stanley, Layla Colligan and Lottie Monks.
A special shout out to Ashleigh who made the final of Theatrecraft out of over 90 dancers. A huge achievement.
